Aware Buildings' Aware Labs is working on an audio AI monitoring solution that we call our "alarm relay". The alarm relay is a wireless device that could be plugged into your apartment, or even shared hallway. It has been trained via machine learning / AI to "listen" to a whole bunch of different types of beeps from different types of alarms: smoke carbon monoxide and natural gas which all tend to be in the 2.4–3.8 KHz range. They report back to the Aware Network so management can instantly know both when and where in the building any alarm goes off (smoke, carbon dioxide, natural gas and even a depleted battery alert). 

Alarm Relay is further being trained to recognize a variety of sounds, for example, somebody shouting the word "help" with urgency (in the case of a fall or other type of incapacitating condition) and then sending an alert to management.
